About Kevin

Kevin was born on November 25, 1983, and grew up with his parents and younger brother Russell in Marietta, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Kevin attended The Walker School in Marietta, where he excelled academically and had some very memorable moments athletically as the captain of his high school basketball team.

Kevin's hard work got him into Northwestern University, where he graduated with honors in 2006. Folowing graduation, Kevin made Chicago his home, much to the delight of his college sweetheart and future wife Megan, a native of the Chicago area. Kevin was artistic, an avid traveler, and a loyal fan of Atlanta and Northwestern sports teams.
Kevin was also dedicated to the joy of life-long learning. While employed full-time, Kevin studied for and passed the three rigorous exams necessary to achieve the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He then went back to school for his MBA at Northwestern University's Kelogg School of Business , receiving his degree in 2015. Over the years, Kevin acquired many friends and admirers through his kindness, selflessness, and gentle sense of humor. Friends and coworkers remember him fondly as a a reliable supporter, mentor, and ready helper.

Devastatingly, in October of 2014, Kevin was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer. Kevin underwent a grueling and invasive course of treatment with the same diligence, energy, and spirit he brought ot the many other challenges he met during his life. Kevin refused to let cancer slow or define him and, despite the invasive treatment, he continued working full-time, finished his MBA, and traveled internationally.

As Stuart Scott stated, "When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live." Kevin did just that, fearlessly, compassionately, and without complaint. All who knew Kevin are proud of him, inspired by him, and miss him daily.
